What our customers say

From our customer reviews.

They conducted the test right away and kept me informed every step of the way.

They arrived the day after I called, on time, set up the Radon test and left within 5 minutes.

Everything was handled so professionally, quickly and so easy to have our house tested for radon.

They found elevated radon in the home and numerous issues on the home inspection report which were remedied before I moved in.

Great service, very thorough inspection and highlighted items in a very approachable and organized manner.

How much does radon testing cost in Baltimore County?

A radon test in Baltimore County is $185, or $175 when it is added to a home inspection. That is the whole price: both visits, the monitor for the full 48 hours, and the written report with every hourly reading in it. The standard price is for one residence in the verified jurisdiction. Multiunit, multi-building or city-and-county orders need a confirmed quote.

Day 1

Drop-off

We place the monitor

A technician places it on the lowest level that could be used regularly, following EPA placement limits and the intended use of the space, inside a two-hour arrival window. With a home inspection, placement happens during the inspection visit.

48 hours

The house stays closed

The monitor does the work

For a short-term real-estate test, EPA guidance calls for closed-building conditions for at least 12 hours before the test and throughout the measurement. Windows stay closed, exterior doors open only for normal entry and exit, and the monitor logs hourly readings that help document the test conditions during the minimum 48-hour measurement.

Day 3

Pick-up and report

We collect it, read it, and write it up

A technician picks the monitor up in another two-hour window and pulls the full record on the spot. The written report reaches you the same day.

National Radon Safety Board

NRSB-certified technicians. Our own team, certified by the National Radon Safety Board, not a subcontractor.

EPA testing guidance. Placement, closed-house conditions and the 48-hour minimum follow it, and your average is read against the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L.

Continuous monitors. Airthings Corentium Pro instruments, logging every hour for the whole test.

Appointment times are requests until our team confirms them. What the number means, how to prepare the property and the eight questions everyone asks are on the radon testing page; this page is about Baltimore County.

What the ground does under Baltimore County homes

EPA lists Baltimore County in Zone 1 and independent Baltimore City in Zone 2. Verify the jurisdiction before using either row. Both are broad estimates; the measured air inside the selected county or city residence answers the property question.

Baltimore County links are divided into western communities, eastern and northern communities, and independent Baltimore City. Confirm city or county from the property record before using a local page. Then identify the residence, its lowest regularly usable level and any additional unit included in the request.

01

County Zone 1 and City Zone 2 are distinct map rows

Baltimore County carries Zone 1, while independent Baltimore City carries Zone 2. Confirm the jurisdiction before reading the map, then use an indoor measurement for the actual address.

02

Verify City or County before placement

Use the property or taxing jurisdiction when a Baltimore mailing name is unclear. The two jurisdictions have separate local pages and EPA map rows.

03

Give occupants one set of test instructions

Everyone with access should know the closed-condition period, device location and pickup plan so daily activity does not undermine the measurement.

We only perform testing, not mitigation.

We do not install radon systems, so we have nothing to gain from your number. If the result is at or above the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L, you choose who fixes it. Once the system is in, we can test again and tell you what it reads.

Before you book in Maryland

Maryland's residential disclosure framework includes radon among the hazardous or regulated materials covered by an owner's actual knowledge for certain single-family residential property of four or fewer units. The statute has enumerated exemptions and does not itself require a radon test. County and municipal requirements may differ, so check the rules for the property's location and type before relying on an existing result.

Md. Real Property section 10-702. Current as of September 2026. General information, not legal advice.

Radon testing in Baltimore County, answered straight

What does Zone 1 mean in Baltimore County?

For the county, Zone 1 means higher estimated area potential. It does not apply automatically to Baltimore City and cannot determine either jurisdiction's individual home result.

Which Baltimore-area jurisdiction belongs on my request?

Use the property or taxing record to determine whether the address is in Baltimore County or independent Baltimore City. The two jurisdictions have separate local pages and different EPA map rows. A mailing address by itself may not answer that boundary question.

Where is a monitor placed for a Baltimore County residence?

The technician considers the lowest level that could be used regularly and verifies that it belongs to the specified county home or unit. Shared corridors and an independent Baltimore City address are different scope questions.

How long does a Baltimore County continuous measurement take?

The monitor collects data for 48 hours after placement. Closed conditions begin 12 hours before setup and continue during the run. The written result is delivered on collection day.
