Every town we cover in Prince George's County

Prince George's County runs from the District line on its west side to the Potomac River in the south, so its housing spans homes built close to Washington in the middle of last century to newer construction farther from the city, with older, more rural homes along its southern edge. This page is the index to the towns we cover in the county, each with its own home inspection, radon, mold and air quality testing.

Each town page carries what we actually see in the housing stock there and routes to that town's own service pages. Anywhere inside the county line is a normal booking whether or not it is listed here.

What we see in Prince George's County homes

Housing age can vary widely within the same county, and a home's age says more about that specific property than about the neighborhood it sits in.

That range means an inspection can turn up very different things from one property to the next. Older homes near the District line often have updated systems layered over original wiring and plumbing, plus additions that may or may not have been permitted. Newer homes farther out are more likely to raise questions about grading, downspouts and how water moves away from the foundation. We check both the same way, house by house, rather than assuming what an inspection will find based on the year a home was built.

01

Additions and permits

Many homes in the county have been added onto or had basements finished over the years. We look for signs the work was not permitted, since that can mean electrical or framing that was never inspected.

02

Grading and drainage

How a lot is graded and where downspouts discharge affects whether water moves away from or toward the foundation. This is one of the first things we check on any property in the county, older or new.

03

Electrical service

Homes built in different decades carry different electrical service types and panel ages. We check the service size, panel condition and visible wiring so you know what you are inheriting before you close.

The county runs its own permits and code enforcement.

That matters on an inspection because unpermitted work is common in older homes that have changed hands more than once, and it can mean wiring, framing or plumbing that was never checked by an inspector at the time it was done. We note visible signs of additions or conversions during a home inspection so a buyer knows what to ask the seller or the county about before closing.

Prince George's County inspections, answered straight

Do you inspect homes anywhere in Prince George's County?
Yes. The county runs from communities close to the District line to more rural stretches farther south, and we cover all of it as part of our regular service area. Tell us the property address when you reach out and we will confirm timing for that part of the county.
How long does it take to get my inspection report?
Reports come back 24 to 48 hours after the inspection. That gives our inspector time to review photos, notes and any monitor readings properly, rather than summarizing everything on site. We would rather take the extra time than hand back a report that was rushed together.
Can I get radon, mold and air quality testing done along with a home inspection in Prince George's County?
In many cases, yes. Depending on the property and what you are trying to learn before closing, radon, mold and air quality testing can often be scheduled alongside a home inspection for the same address. Contact us with the details and we will tell you what fits your timeline.
Does an older home in Prince George's County need different testing than a newer one?
Not for whether we can test it. Radon can be present in a home of any age, and mold depends on moisture history rather than the year a house was built. What can differ with an older home is what we look for during the inspection itself, since systems and finishes have had more time to be altered.
