Four measurements, a clearer picture

This panel describes key characteristics of the water in your sample. It can be a useful starting point when you notice a change in taste or deposits, or want baseline measurements for a private well.

01

pH

Measures how acidic or basic the sample is.

02

Conductivity

Measures how readily the water conducts electricity, which relates to dissolved ions.

03

Total dissolved solids

Measures the combined dissolved material in the water, often reported as TDS.

04

Salinity

Measures the dissolved salt content of the sample.

This panel does not identify every dissolved substance and does not include bacteria, lead, nitrate, nitrite or turbidity. It also does not measure water flow or pressure. We can help you choose additional tests for your question.

A test for your next question

Start with what you need to learn. We confirm the tests, sample locations and report requirements before the visit.

  • A change in taste or recurring deposits at a tap or fixture.
  • Baseline pH and dissolved-solids measurements for a private well.
  • Questions about water before or after treatment equipment; discuss the sampling plan first.

Your testing questions

What does the water quality panel include?

It includes pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids and salinity. The report records the measurements for the collected sample.

Does this show whether water is safe to drink?

These measurements alone do not test every possible contaminant. Choose the tests that match your concern; bacteria, lead, nitrate and nitrite require separate testing.

Will this identify the cause of every stain or deposit?

No. This panel measures acidity and dissolved material. Some concerns need tests for particular substances that are not included in this panel.

Can I combine it with other water tests?

Yes. Ask for a quote covering the panels and sample locations you need. We confirm the combined scope before you book.
